Patrizia Pepe Men's Occasion Wear: Style Team tips

It’s Spring, it’s getting hotter, the sun’s out (a bit on the shy side but out nevertheless) and we are officially into Special Occasion time of year… yip, it’s that time already! … I’m sure you’ve all got at least one invitation to a big wedding, anniversary or birthday do, or maybe just a special event that you need some special occasion wear for???
We’ve always worked this kind of event into our Patrizia Pepe collections, but this time round we want to go one step further… we want to give you some tips straight from the hands and minds of the creative genius behind our Collections… Gentlemen, here’s what a member of our Style Team has to say about your special occasions:
Hello there, here I am back to talk to you about what Special Occasions mean for me and for Patrizia Pepe.
When a friend says “I’ve got a wedding to go to, what should I wear?” I always ask, are you playing the lead or just a walk on part?
It’s never easy to give advice like this as special events are the one time, whether you’re the centre of attention or a supporting actor, that you have to feel 100% comfortable in what you’re wearing. And we all know how we often end up feeling like a stuffed turkey or just plain awkward in clothes that we’re not used to wearing every day.
This said, I normally offer two options: the more classic jacket, trousers, shirt and tie combo; or, …. and this works even better if you’re not playing the starring role, a more informal but equally sophisticated look. Ties are not an essential in the latter, you could even wear one undone like a scarf.

For the more classic look, I suggest a two-piece silk-satin pinstripe suit with jacket and trousers … you can’t go wrong with a suit in this fabric, its smart, stylish but not too complicated and easy to wear again in other less formal occasions.
On the big day, dress it up with a matching shirt (even black on black) to work something different from everyday white, with a light grey or even white tie as the only break in the colour block. The finishing touch… a pair of high-sheen shoes to give this more formal look a touch of glam.
In the second option, you lose the more classic suit jacket and crank up the trend factor with our stretch-cotton gabardine jacket with satin lapels (perfect as a separate ) … or wear the jacket with the matching, slim version trousers in the same fabric, a Patrizia Pepe Every Season Super Style must-have (just think, the very first version from the Patrizia Pepe SS 2005 men’s collection still exists and is still selling like hotcakes). The satin-lapel jacket worn as a separate can be even edgier and younger if you team it with the 5-pocket shimmer trousers and a light cotton v-neck top.
If it’s an original, unique but very hot trend you’re after…and distinctly Bohemian feel, then it’s the light cotton, cool suit for you; and don’t forget… both the jacket and trousers need to be creased, so push up the sleeves and roll up the trouser bottoms.
This outfit calls for a more serious shirt … to offset the suit and balance the look, so try the stretch jacquard popeline model with contrast details under the collar. Follow your instincts for the Shoes… go with high sheen as before or a vintage feel, maybe even daring to wear them with no socks… in true Bohemian style obviously!
That’s it! You couldn’t get a better answer than that!!!
