Patrizia Pepe Menswear 2011 Spring Summer Collection

>The soul denim man in the Los Angeles desert

With the coming of Pitti Immagine, the international fashion event, the iconic Patrizia Pepe store in Florence’s P.zza S.Giovanni will be transformed for three days from 11 to 14 January into a Temporary store dedicated entirely to the Spring Summer 2011 Menswear Collection.

This year, the themes of the Spring Summer 2011 Collection are Indigo Soul and Desert Nomad featuring workwear influences, dry, desert wilds, hand tailoring and the washed look for men who want to wear denim and they want it grunged up in colours and textures that bring to mind the Californian desert.

The result is an all-new classy Casual with a tight-fighting but ever-soft appeal. The trench, in both the long and short versions, has a minimal cut making it supremely easy to wear; the destructured or washed-effect jackets are teamed with easy-around-the-middle trousers. The luxurious interiors mirror the lovingly hand-crafted tailoring of yesteryear.

The colour palette matches the characteristic hues of the two themes: gradations of blue and natural tones blend seamlessly together, sitting happily alongside more fiery Selvage Reds.

Diagonal grain materials in spring and summer weights feature heavily in the choice of fabrics, which also feature patterned cottons used for jackets and trousers and Pima cotton jersey and pique’; the details and effects worked into the finished garments give them an even more unique feel and look.

Cotton and linen yarns, reverse stitching, fabric inserts and garment-dyed effects are used to produce a knitwear collection that is full of detail and great for anytime, anywhere dressing.

The leather and fabric accessories work well across the entire collection, dovetailing with every look and only serving to heighten the care and inspiration encapsulated in each piece.
