In her “Fashion Icons“ book, author Leen Demeester explores how fashion has evolved through the centuries, tracing the origins of iconic pieces like the corset, bra, dress, miniskirt, trousers, accessories and high-heeled shoes.
The book takes you on a time-travelling journey through a myriad of stunning photos starring the biggest style icons of all time: Audrey Hepburn, Kate Moss, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana…
As she winds her way through the annals of fashion history, using style icons as her guide, the author dedicates a whole chapter to Patrizia Pepe, granting the company a place in the fashion hall of fame for its 20 successful years in the business.
In particular, Leen Demeester describes what the brand has done for the miniskirt, talking about it in an interview with creative director Patrizia Bambi: “I never usually stick to just one skirt length, as long as it’s versatile and right for every occasion; that’s why I like to make all different lengths, depending on the look, whether it’s glamorous or smart…it’s definitely the item that helps bring out the feminine side..”
In the brand’s 20th anniversary year, Patrizia Bambi also summed up what feminine means for her: “the Patrizia Pepe woman is smart, she’s got street style, she’s creative, inquisitive, feminine and has a contemporary approach to elegance, which has to match the occasion.”
